Terms of Use
1. Who runs this
C3DB is a personal, non-commercial project built and operated by Yvonne Liu. It is not a company, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the IFSC or any national climbing federation.
2. The service
C3DB aggregates publicly available competitive climbing results (from the IFSC, FFME, JMSCA, USAC, CMA, KAF, BMC, AUSTRIA, CEC, and similar federations) into a queryable database, and provides tools to explore it: a web dashboard, a SQL console, a public API, an MCP server, and a Python client. Some features let you ask questions in natural language using an AI model.
3. Accounts and API keys
Creating an account requires an email address and password, authenticated through Firebase. You’re responsible for keeping your credentials and any API keys you mint secure. We may revoke keys or suspend accounts that abuse the service — for example, excessive request rates, attempts to circumvent rate limits, or reselling access.
4. Data sources — no ownership claim
Underlying competition results belong to the organizing federations, not to C3DB. We republish and structure publicly available results for analysis; we don’t claim ownership of the underlying data, and we make no claim that our aggregation is complete, error-free, or officially sanctioned.
5. AI / “ask” features
Some tools let you query the data using an AI model of your choice, connected through your own client (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Desktop) and your own API key for that model. C3DB does not select, operate, or take responsibility for the AI model’s output — it may be inaccurate. Verify anything important against the underlying data before relying on it.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use C3DB to scrape or republish the dataset in bulk for commercial resale, to impersonate the IFSC or any federation, to attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits, or to disrupt the service for other users.
7. No warranty
C3DB is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. Climbing results data is often incomplete, especially for early rounds or older competitions — we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, C3DB and Yvonne Liu are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
9. Changes
These terms may change as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
